Our "in home" cattery is a family affair, where everyone helps with socialization skills and daily chores. Kittens are lovingly raised underfoot, on the couches& in our beds! LOL

Mother and daughter each with their own cats and goals. We agree on many basics, such as the cornerstones: health, temperament and conformation.

Although we do have our own opinions on favorite colors and patterns. I prefer the big "honking" rosettes and also favor the ALC pattern on golden coats or stunning silvers. Katherine prefers the ALC pattern, marbles and "snows".

Hence, between us, we have a menagerie of colors & patterns. Everyone is protective of our babies and we carefully screen potential new "parents". We have been "owned" by Bengals since 2002, when they stole our hearts.

We reside in rustic McNairy county Tennessee with our wonderful companions and retired Champions. Our lives are enriched by them and they are spoiled in return.

Thankfully, we have been blessed with good careers that allow us to follow our dreams and participate in our favorite hobbies. I have had the privilege of studying and/or participating in activities I enjoy, such as: education, pet therapy, animal behavior and training, breed rescue and showing/breeding. Both of us have a passion for genetics.

I have been a girl scout leader, cookie mom, Sunday school teacher, K-12 educator, college tutored, breed judge and consultant. Our family is also very involved in our community. We are members of both fire departments and the rescue squad.

I have been showing and championing animals basically all my life and it has passed on to my daughter. Species have ranged from waterfowl, rabbits, cats, dogs, goats, sheep and horses. Currently we also have several tanks of show quality guppies in various colors and strains along with our beloved Bengals. Plus, we share our home with retired horses and Champion Chihuahuas.

Granddaddy taught me early that QUALITY does not cost - It PAYS!! and that it does not cost anymore to feed/care for the best. Hence we strive to perfect our animals and participate in breed rescue, as any responsible breeder should. As we say in rescue, " If you are not part of the solution-you are part of the problem ." BREEDER GOALS:

The "perfect" Bengal is a myth, as there is not one in existence. The goals a breeder strives to create/perfect are the boundaries of the breed. We are "greedy" breeders as we want our beautiful Bengals to "have it all".

Our cornerstones are: health, temperament, conformation and coat-in that order.

Every Bengal is a beloved pet first and foremost, therefore they need to be healthy and have a sound temperament If they are also grand champion show stoppers, all the better, but they will be adored just the same by their "human pets".

Here are our ideals on the "purrfect" Bengal:

Now one can see why we are so "greedy" and dedicated to perfect our beloved Bengals. We strive to create the best Bengals for the breed, from the average pet owner to the avid show goer.

Breeding is hard work. It is expensive financially, physically and emotionally. One needs a good career to support the purchasing of the best bloodlines, health testing, campaigning/competing, quality food, litter, cat furniture, toys and etc. In our opinion, responsible breeding is a hobby and not a business. A business is defined as a money making venture. In our experience, if breeding, socialization and all is done properly...one does not make a profit, but rather "goes in the hole". Only way we have ever seen people make money with animals was by "cutting corners" at the animals' and new owners' expenses. So buyer beware...Always purchase from responsible and ethical breeders.

BREEDERS' POEM

I love my little kitty; she makes my house a home.
She is my very best friend; I never feel alone.
She makes me smile;
She makes me laugh;
She fills my heart with love . . .
Did some breeder breed her, or did she fall down from above?
I've never been a breeder, never seen life through their eyes;
I hold my little kitty and just sit and criticize.
I've never known their anguish; I've never felt their pain, the caring of their charges,
through snow or wind or rain.
I've never sat the whole night through, waiting for babies to be born,
the stress and trepidation when they're still not there by dawn.
I've never felt the heartache of a little life in my hands,
this darling little baby, who weighs but 60 grams.
Should you do that instead of this . . . or this instead of that?
Alone you fight and hope one day, he'll grow to be a cat.
You pray he'll live to bring joy to another family, and make a house a home.
You know it's all just up to you; you'll fight this fight alone.
Formula, bottles, heating pads, you've got to get this right,
two-hour feedings for this tiny guy, throughout the day and night.
In your heart you know you're almost sure to lose this epic fight, to save this little baby,
but God willing . . . you just MIGHT.
Day one he's in there fighting; you say a silent prayer.
Day two & three, he's doing well, with lots of love and care.
Day four & five . . . he's still alive; your hopes soar to the heavens.
Day six he slips away again, dies in your hands day seven.
You take this little angel, and bury him alone.
With aching heart and burning tears, and an exhausted groan, you ask yourself,
"Why do this? . . . Why suffer all this pain?"
But see the joy your kittens bring . . . it really self-explains.
So, when you think of breeders and label them with "Greed,"
Think about what they endure to fill another's need.
When you buy a kitten, and with your precious dollars part,
You only pay with money . . . we pay with a piece of our heart.
